NATO military chief warns we ‘must strike first’ in a preemptive attack against Russia

On Tuesday the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused NATO if preparing a preemptive strike against Russia.

The head of NATO’s military committee Admiral Rob Bauer has discussed the possibility of preemptive strikes on Russia in the event of conflict against the alliance.

Admiral Bauer said it is positive that NATO have changed their attitude to simply sit and “wait for us to be attacked” to then react against the aggressor.

Admiral Bauer was quoted by Bloomberg saying, “It is more competent not to wait, but to hit launchers in Russia in case Russia attacks us.

Russian MP Sergey Mironov said, “The idea of the possibility of a preemptive NATO strike against Russia is erroneous and dangerous for the Alliance countries, because it can result in their destruction.”

Mironov told LondonLovesBusiness.com, “A combination of precision strikes is needed that will disable the systems that are used to attack us, and we must strike first.

“Mr Bauer is either a fool or a provocateur. Perhaps both at once.

“Because provoking a nuclear power, that moreover has a hypersonic weapon from which no one has protection, is real madness. Of course, the military in any country is always exploring the possibility of delivering a disarming preemptive strike against the enemy – this is their job.

“But usually, the military keeps these plans to themselves, unlike populist politicians, who, apparently, is the chair of the NATO committee.

“In his opinion, Bauer’s statements were a response to the tests of the Russian Oreshnik missile and the warnings of the Russian President that it could be used on the territory of NATO countries.

Instead of being ready for dialogue, we see how a NATO official is trying to calm public opinion in the West, saying, let’s hit Russia first and win. This is a false and suicidal approach for NATO. Especially for those countries that rely on the US nuclear umbrella, under which it is supposedly possible to escape from retribution. Vladimir Putin clearly said: There will definitely be an answer.

In the West, they like to accuse Russia and our President of aggression. They are sure that if he is removed, there will be peace and security. No, peace and security will come when there are no such provocateurs and warmongers in the Western leadership as Bauer, Borrell, Johnson, and the like,” Sergey Mironov added.
